9 million visits at Firestone centers were analyzed and the results were surprising, to say the least. 42% of vehicles visiting Firestone locations had underinflated tires. The vehicle with the highest rate? Tesla. According to Firestone, 47% of Tesla vehicles had underinflated tires. You may think that underinflated tires are an insignificant issue, but the range of problems that can be caused by underinflated tires is quite broad. They are even more pronounced for Tesla vehicles, since their weight puts an extra strain on the suspension system and the tires. The list of possible problems caused by underinflated tires includes: Decreased mileage Less stability when making emergency maneuvers Longer braking distance Premature need for tire replacement due to uneven tire wear Increased risk of tire blowouts Suspension system stress Driving in the snow: greater risk of skidding Driving in the rain with underinflated tires increases risk of hydroplaning At TechZone Automotive Tec ... read more

Driving a Tesla is not just fun – it’s a lot less maintenance. But one maintenance item remains unchanged – brake fluid replacement. Even though Tesla recommends replacing brake fluid every four years, we highly recommend regular brake fluid checks. Once a year is a good idea – because brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air, so over time, the amount of water in the brake fluid increases, until it starts to impact braking distance. In severe cases (which are admittedly pretty rare), it can cause brake failure. Considering that brakes are the primary safety system of your vehicle, yearly brake fluid checks are not a high price to pay for the peace of mind. Our technicians can visually inspect the brake fluid, as well as test it for water content – if the content exceeds recommended range, we will advise brake fluid change. So whether you recently purchased a pre-owned Tesla, or it’s been a faithful companion for years, bring it to TechZone in Conco ... read more

Welcome to Tesla service at TechZone Automotive. Gone are the days when you had to visit a Tesla owned and operated service center. As the number of Teslas increased dramatically, it became obvious that Tesla service centers would not be able to handle all that work – and Tesla would have to do what all auto makers have done – rely on independent auto repair shops to provide services for their vehicles. At TechZone Automotive we are one of the few shops in the area that can provide your Tesla with services it requires. Some services are gone for good – no more oil change every 6 months, but there are still services your Tesla needs. Brake service is one of them – even though regenerative braking is easy on the brake pads, they do wear out eventually. When you drive a gasoline powered vehicle, you are in a shop relatively often, so mechanics get to take a look at your brakes. But driving Tesla, you need to make an effort to schedule a brake insp ... read more
